Help is urgently needed in Haiti, following the devastating earthquake that is affecting the lives of millions of Haitians. We are working with United Airlines to lend a hand to the people of Haiti and support the humanitarian efforts currently underway. Today, United Airlines announced the United Airlines Foundation will match up to a total of $50,000 to the American Red Cross (ARC) when donations are made by United employees or passengers. Our website contains the direct link to make a donation to the ARC with the matching funds from United.
Another way Mileage Plus Members can help is by donating Mileage Plus miles to the American Red Cross through the Charity Miles program. A link to this program is also available from our website. These miles may be used by the American Red Cross to get aid workers to affected area.
Any assistance in promoting the American Red Cross will go a long way in helping to provide aid to people affected by Tuesday’s earthquake in Haiti. By working together to raise awareness of the important work of the American Red Cross, we can help sustain the life-saving work and provide much needed assistance to the millions of people affected by this natural disaster.
We continue to work with United Airlines to determine any other ways we may be able to offer assistance to the people of Haiti. We will continue to promote the fundraising programs announced today and communicate any other opportunities to help. Assisting others in need is what Flight Attendants do best and when we coordinate our care giving efforts we multiply the good we can do. Thank you for all you do to care for those in need.
In Solidarity,
Greg Davidowitch, President
