Resolution for IST Qualifications
Action: Adopted
WHEREAS, after recent announcements by United to potentially fill vacancies with new hire Flight Attendants the AFA-CWA United Master Executive Council is concerned about the impact on active Flight Attendants because new hires will receive International Service Training (IST); and,
WHEREAS, the United Master Executive Council realizes the loss of potential earnings by Flight Attendants that are not currently IST qualified; and,
WHEREAS, the United Master Executive Council directs the MEC President/ Designee to continue to advocate for more IST training classes for those Flight Attendants who have been unable to attend due to the limited number of IST classes; and,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the United Master Executive Council President/Designee will research all possible remedies that would allow these trainings to continue; and,
THEREFORE BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, the United Master Executive Council will continue discussions with the company on a regular basis to increase the number of IST classes, so as to allow the highest potential earnings for all Flight Attendants.
