Address and Telephone Number
You must be sure your domicile has your present address and telephone number and you must keep them advised of any change during this period, per section 5.L. and 21.E. of the Agreement.
According to Section 5.L. the company will be required to give at least the following notice of recall:
Duration of ANP Status Recall Notice 1-14 days 24 hours 15-30 days 72 hours 31 or more days 14 days
Seniority
Seniority will continue to accrue.
Compensation
Your monthly Guaranty (lineholders) / Minimum (reserves) will be reduced in accordance with the “without pay” provisions of Section 5.C. and D. of the Agreement.
Vacation
You will continue to accrue vacation. All Flight Attendants who are on or will be on “vacation status” (VAC) at the commencement of or during 5.L. ANP status will remain on that status through the duration of the scheduled vacation period and will be paid 2.6 hours per VAC day. The remainder of the month will be ANP.
Sick Leave
You will continue to accrue sick leave hours. However, United’s sick leave policy is intended to compensate employees for time off due to illness during their normal working schedule. If you are on sick leave status as of April 1, 2003, you will be converted to ANP status under Section 5.L. Sick leave pay will cease. If you become ill while on Section 5.L. ANP status, you will not be entitled to sick leave pay.
Credit Union
You will need to contact the Credit Union regarding payroll deductions as each individual circumstance varies.
Savings Bonds, UECP
Deductions are suspended and may not be retroactively repaid.
Uniform Payments
Uniform payments will be suspended during this status. Normal payments will resume if you are returned to work, and the payment period will be extended as necessary.
Pass Travel
Normal Write Your Own travel provisions are applicable. Offline travel may be subject to other airline’s embargo. Emergency travel requests should be routed to Division Personnel.
Transfers
You may not request a transfer during this status.
Leave of Absence
If you were previously approved for LOA status during this time, you will continue on the leave as scheduled. Those due to return from leave will be brought back to active status and then placed on 5.L. ANP status.
Insurance, Medical and Dental
Your normal insurance coverage will continue. If you are subsequently involuntarily furloughed from 5.L. ANP status, you will be provided information on how to continue coverage beyond the contractually guaranteed 90 day period.
Insurance, Life and Accident
Deductions are suspended during the 5.L. ANP status, and will be collected retroactively upon return to work. If you are subsequently furloughed from 5.L. ANP status, you will be provided information on what coverage may be continued provided you make the required premium payments.
Unemployment
Please check with your state unemployment office to determine if you qualify for unemployment benefits. State unemployment office contact information is available in the furlough information center on our website, www.unitedafa.org.
