San Francisco Secondary Vacation Re-bid

Today a problem was discovered with the San Francisco Secondary vacation bid allocation pages, DIS*70295 and DIS*70296.  In some cases, there were vacation periods available to bid that were not accurately listed on the allocation page.  There were a significant number of premium vacation days listed incorrectly.  Flight Attendants were misled and may not have bid for vacation periods they could have held. 

AFA and the company have agreed that there is a need to re-bid Secondary vacations in San Francisco.  In order to accommodate the re-bid of secondary vacations, Tertiary vacation bidding at San Francisco only will be rescheduled and is no longer accessible for bidding.  The tertiary bid period will close and be awarded on December 14th.  AFA also requested a one day extension of the January schedule primary bid period in order to accommodate those Flight Attendants away from home on multi-day trips who may not have access to their vacation award.

The Secondary vacation re-bid is now open.  The VACBID screen currently displays Secondary vacation bids previously submitted. 

The decision to delay bids is never an easy one and is made only after careful consideration of all the facts.  Protecting our Contractual rights is always of paramount concern in order to ensure all Members equal opportunity to exercise those rights.  AFA made the decision for this revised bidding timeline to provide this opportunity to all San Francisco Flight Attendants.
