Dear Flying Partner:
With the U.S. General Election less than 28 days away, we want to ensure that every Flight Attendant has the opportunity to make their voice heard and their vote count.
Many states allow registered voters to vote prior to Election Day by casting an absentee ballot or voting in person. Some states have “no excuse” absentee voting while other states allow you to vote absentee if you expect to be out of town on Election Day. By requesting your absentee ballot and voting early you won’t have to worry about bidding November 2 off.
Does your vote matter? Just ask the voters in Florida where the margin of victory in the 2000 presidential election was just 537 votes. This year’s election promises to be just as close. That is why we are encouraging you to request an absentee ballot today.
The potential impact of votes cast in October is huge. That’s why early voting is so important. Voting now means you can pick up that overlap trip without having to be concerned about making it to the polls on November 2!
In-person early voting begins in Arizona September 30, in California October 4, in Colorado October 18, in Florida October 18, in Nevada October 16 and in North Carolina October 14. Additional in-person early/absentee voting information is posted on www.unitedafa.org
Early voting regulations are subject to change and can vary by county within a state. You can obtain the most complete and updated information by calling your state or local election board.
Remember, November 2 is the last day to vote ……..not the first!
In Solidarity,
