Under the direction of Glenn Tilton, executives have been spending millions to lobby Congress against passing the "Airline Flight Crew Technical Corrections Act" so that we can't access the benefit to care for ourselves or our families like every other worker in this country. Make sure Tilton doesn't get the last word. Call your Representative and Senators to ask them to co-sponsor House Resolution 2744 (H.R. 2744) in the House and Senate Bill 2059 (S. 2059) in the Senate.
As of today, we have 232 co-sponsors in the House and 16 in the Senate. That’s great, but we can’t rest until we have this benefit under the law.
Make your calls to the House and Senate today, and every day until the bill is passed and signed into law by the President.
Use the Congressional directory available at your AFA office to find your Senators and Representative’s contact information in Washington DC. Or, you can always look up your representative’s contact information through our website’s Government Affairs section at: http://www.unitedafa.org/cmt/gov/default.asp
Hi. My name is . As a constituent and a Flight Attendant, I am asking that the Congress(woman/man) co-sponsor H.R. 2744, "The Airline Flight Crew Technical Corrections Act." This bill is a priority for me and my family since it gives all flight crewmembers the same access to the Family and Medical Leave Act as every other worker in this country. For more information or to sign on to the bill, you can contact Joanna Serra in Congressman Tim Bishop’s office at 225-3826. Together with my fellow crewmembers, I would really appreciate my Representative’s support. Thank you.
Hi. My name is . I am calling as a voter in the Senator's state and as a Flight Attendant. I am asking that the Senator co-sponsor S. 2059, "The Airline Flight Crew Technical Corrections Act." This bill is a priority for me and my family since it gives all flight crewmembers the same access to the Family and Medical Leave Act as every other worker in this country. For more information or to sign on to the bill, you can contact Phil Spector in Senator Clinton’s office at 224-1695. Together with fellow crewmembers I would really appreciate the Senator's support. Thank you.
Don’t worry about calling an office that is already a co-sponsor – additional calls will only help our campaign. If your Senator or Representative is already listed as a co-sponsor, be sure to thank them for their support! Then, remind them how important it is that this legislation is passed as soon as possible. Your additional calls will assist them with pressing their colleagues for action on the bill.
