Jun 24, 2005 - Flight attendants at United Airlines scored a key legislative victory today in their battle to preserve their pension plan. The House of Representatives passed an amendment to an appropriations bill prohibiting the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) from spending funds on the termination of their pension plan. Sept 24, 2004 - At the request of AFA, 130 Members of Congress sent a letter to United's CEO urging United to honor the promises made to their employees. This letter asks United to retain their pension plans and fund them at adequate levels.
