TVLLOG is the permanent corporate database created to document and track hotel and transportation complaints and praises. Whenever your hotel committee submits a hotel or transportation concern based upon TVLLOGs to WHQBQ, the Company response is generally based upon the number of complaints on file. The fewer the complaints, the less important the issue is to the Company. Frankly, we complain to each other but often fail to document the problem -- whether it was resolved or not. It is vital each flight attendant adversely affected either by transportation or while at the layover hotel file his/her own TVLLOG. Do not think the purser filing a TVLLOG is sufficient.
When submitting/transmitting a TVLLOG, your comment is automatically sent to:
Compare that action to submitting a Flight Attendant Report to a supervisor who has little authority to fix the problem and may be more concerned about your sick list usage or uniform appearance.
So…how does one use TVLLOG, a program made easier to use over the years? Using a company Unimatic computer or accessing Unimatic remotely from the Internet through AOL simply type:
TVLLOG <enter>
Check-in or pick-up date (Complete where it reads OCCR DT)
Airport Code (Mandatory 3 letter City Code)
Log # This space remains blank. When an additional issue is added the system will pre-fill the log number.
In the TVLLOG format the cursor will be positioned in the HTL or TRAN NAME field. (Prior to leaving your home domicile hotel and transportation information can be obtained by using DSPID/, HTLID or TVLQCK Unimatic prompts.) Type the hotel name or transportation company where the issue occurred. Use the tab key to complete the following fields:
HTL CHK IN TIME (optional) (AFA needs this information for tracking issues.)
ROOM NUMBER (AFA needs this information for tracking issues) ID# (AFA needs this information for tracking issues)
ID DATE (AFA needs this information for tracking issues)
INBOUND FLT (mandatory)
COMMENTS (mandatory) The more concise and professionally presented the issue, the greater the impact of your comments. Be certain to include names and times. Remember, TVLLOG is a Company document. Once your comments are completed, tab to SNDLOG and press <enter>. The issue/compliment will be recorded in the Corporate Travel system.
You have up to thirty (30) days to input up to four (4) issues per day regarding your transportation and lodging. But why wait? Do it ASAP. Delay often causes one to forget details and the motivation to document the problem usually subsides. TVLLOGs are viewed regularly by both AFA and the Company.
