Your MEC Insurance and Retirement Committee is knowledgeable in present contractually provided insurance and retirement programs. The Committee also researches and recommends improvements in
present programs through collective bargaining, legislation, and any
other means.
January 30, 2008 - Our advocacy remains consistent in pressing management to dump the Eligibility Verification process that puts the benefits of your family at risk by arbitrarily deeming the verification you already have on file is inadequate. As of today, United has responded to our advocacy in part by agreeing to an administrative process prior to terminating the Health& Welfare Benefits and/or Travel Privileges retroactive to February 1, 2008.
October 9, 2007 - While we continue to fight the outrageous call for verification of our dependants and eligibles in an effort to deny us medical and travel benefits, we encourage Flight Attendants to protect yourself and your family by complying with the request and utilizing some recommendations to help deal with the process.

Where state disability insurance is mandated: MetLife administers benefits for all employees working in the states of New Jersey and New York. Flights attendants domiciled at EWR and JFK can call the United MetLife Customer Response Center at the toll free number 1-888-825-3368 to request a claim form. Flight attendants working in Hawaii can call GAB Robins, 1-808-548-0231 MetLife's third party administrator in Hawaii, to request a claim form.
