Retiree Medical Agreement Now Available
June 21, 2004 --
On Thursday, June 10, 2004, we were able to reach an agreement with United that satisfied our goals. That agreement was subsequently approved by Judge Wedoff in bankruptcy court on Monday, June 14, and becomes effective September 1, 2004.
UAL Retirees OK New Benefits
June 10, 2004 -- The United Airlines Retiree Coalition today announced an agreement with United Airlines that provides insurance benefit modifications for 50,000 of the bankrupt airline’s retirees, their spouses and dependants. AFA Press Release >>

Coalition of the Authorized Representatives of United’s Retirees Issues Letter to Glenn Tilton
May 20, 2004 -- United is expected to file a Section 1114 motion to slash retiree medical benefits in bankruptcy court tomorrow, May 21, 2004. Negotiations to reach a consensual agreement failed due to United's intransigence.

AMFA Recklessly Enters Retiree Health Care Concessionary Negotiations
May 5 , 2004 -- MEC President Greg Davidowitch discovered recently that AMFA, the authorized representative of the retired mechanics has engaged in concessionary negotiations over changes to retiree medical benefits.
AMFA, with the assistance of the McCormick Group, has committed a strategic mistake that threatens to undercut the position of all the other employees, including Flight Attendants, in trying to limit or avoid the company’s proposed cuts to retiree medical benefits.
