Airline CEO Compensation

Who says pay should be based on performance?
Time for Tilton to earn his pay and share the rewards.
We need a raise.

Even when using United's calculations of Tilton's 2006 pay at $23.8 million, his compensation is nearly 20 times that of the CEO at Southwest whose airline logged the best ranking in the area of passenger complaints. A more widely accepted calculation of his pay equals $39.7 million in 2006 compensation.  Compensation includes salary, bonus, incentives, perks, above-market returns on deferred compensation and the estimated value of stock options and awards granted during the year.
