Mr. Charlie Ahmes
United Airlines, WHQHI

FAX: 847-700-2187

Dear Charlie,

I remain cautiously optimistic on our future here in Philadelphia after our telephone conversation Thursday, June 19, 2003.

Your prompt telephone response and positive attitude towards our survey as a viable alternative to some of the roadblock we have encountered was encouraging. As we agreed to maintain protocol, any negotiations on this issue would be directed through Greg and Helen at the MEC office. As we also agreed, time was of the utmost importance, therefore I contacted Greg immediately on Thursday to continue talks on our behalf. I look forward to meeting with you, Greg and Helen early this week to iron out a proposal and agreement that allow our co-terminal suggestion to become a reality on August 31, 2003 or soon after.

As Todd has made abundantly clear on several occasions with supporting data, United benefits and will continue to benefit financially by allowing ID’s to originate and end in Philadelphia. The co-terminal suggestion as you know eliminates the traditional overhead and costs associated with a single domicile operation. This appears to be exactly what you and the company desire to realize, an enhanced operational savings for our division and company that benefits our bottom line now and in the future. This would also appear to be an excellent addendum to the much awaited business plan demonstrating Onboard’s value to the company.

Charlie, I trust your call to me was not in vain and you possess as I do the genuine desire to work towards an immediate and mutually beneficial solution to retain flying in/out of Philadelphia, enhance the company’s bottom line operationally, save thousands on moving expenses and preserve the quality of life for every Flight Attendant currently domiciled in Philadelphia. The latter, as you know, being priceless.

Charlie, should anything in this letter concerning our telephone conversation be inaccurate, please contact me at your earliest convenience. I also look forward to discussing these issues with you in-person along with Greg and Helen in the near future.

Sincerely,

Terry Knoy
