Once approved, shareholders would achieve an annual advisory, non-binding vote on executive compensation submitted by the United Board of Directors.

Dec 07, 2007 - The leaders of the three largest Unions at United Airlines, Mark Bathurst, United Master Executive Council Chairman of the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA); Greg Davidowitch, United Master Executive Council President of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA); and Randy Canale, President and Directing General Chairman of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), District 141, issued a statement in response to the decision of UAL executives, and approved by the UAL Board of Directors, to give a $250 million special payout to shareholders.

UAL Payout Short Changes Shareholders

Dec 07, 2007 - AFA-CWA today blasted the decision of UAL executives, which was also approved by the UAL Board of Directors, to give a special payout to shareholders. The Union said this move undercuts the value of United Airlines by favoring short-term shareholder returns over a strong, motivated workforce, an improved customer experience and the long-term health of the airline.

Union Coalition at United Airlines Demands Repayment with Airline's "Found Money"

Nov 27, 2007 - The Union Coalition at United Airlines issued a statement condemning United's announcement that it will restructure current credit agreements in hopes of pursuing "shareholder-oriented initiatives." The Unions reiterate that any "excess cash" belongs first to the workers of United Airlines.
