United Delays Filing 1113 Motion United issued the following statement this afternoon:"In response to requests from its labor unions, and in light of ongoing discussions with them, United said that it will delay until tomorrow (Dec. 27) a filing under Section 1113 of Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code."
AFA views this announcement as a positive development and an indication of both party's dedication to collaborative and continuous work towards United's successful restructuring and emergence from bankruptcy. United Airlines Flight Attendants Have Begun Negotiations To Avoid Bankruptcy Representatives of the United Airlines Master Executive Council of the Association of Flight Attendants, AFL-CIO, began meeting with airline management recently in hopes of reaching agreement on changes to the Flight Attendant Contract that will provide United management with the savings it needs from the Flight Attendants to avoid bankruptcy.
