SEATTLE - If you are planning to fly United Airlines Thursday, you may find that United's flight attendants have other ideas.
They are so unhappy with management, they are planning job actions that could wreak havoc with your travel plans.
Frustrated United Airlines flight attendants are used to solving passengers' problems. Now the flight attendants are asking passengers for help with their own.
They are trying to tell passengers about their dissatisfaction about the termination of their pension plan last month and with management as it tries to take it out of bankruptcy.
Attendants are threatening a "chaos strike" - random walkouts that could throw travel plans into disarray around the world.
Dozens of attendants protested from Hong Kong to Newark, both major hubs for United Airlines, as well as 20 other airports across the world -- including Sea-Tac.
At Sea-Tac, there were some attendants with pickets outside the airport, but inside, things were reportedly still going smoothly.
But if problems pop up in other spots and a chaos strike occurs, travel agents say you may have to wait or re-route at this busy time of year.
"Make sure your travel agent has your cell phone so they can reach you if you are at the airport so they can send you care alerts or other warnings," said Con Hitchcock with Orbitz.
This is not the first time United flight attendants have used this tactic and the company says it has yet to impact service.
The threatened job action comes at the height of summer travel - but United says it does have spare crews and can maintain its 3,000 flights a day.
