United’s 2003 Financial Statement

March 16, 2004

United’s financial status is important to all of us for the longevity of our jobs and future security, but details of company expenditures may be more poignant than ever as we work each day with the concessions in work rules and cash a little less in each paycheck. Recently, United filed a federally mandated document, called a 10K filing (.pdf 309 KB). The 10K filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, reveals all of United’s expenditures and revenues, and it compares 2003 financial numbers with that of earlier years.

Over the past 18 months and since United enter the abysmal existence in bankruptcy, one theme has been clear with Flight Attendants and other employees. Once we determined that our sacrifices were necessary, we wanted to know that our contributions would not go alone. We wanted to know that everyone would share in the pain and the redoubled efforts for United’s success. Throughout the bankruptcy endorsed attack on our Contract, and the latest attempt to extract more from retirees, there is always a common question. We all want to know how the decision makers, the top management and their compensation will be affected.
