Supplemental Insurance Update

UPDATE (July 29, 2005):  Recognizing the reasonable concerns of our Members and the need to preserve health benefits critical for our families, AFA has been actively seeking a voluntary insurance program to be available to our Members at an affordable price.  Although we were able to secure a proposal from a provider that would have afforded all United employees the option of additional benefits and our airline with a tax break, United refused to provide access to payroll deduction to make the whole program work.

AFA reached an agreement with Aflac for an automatic deduction through the credit union for voluntary insurance initiative designed to give our members important coverage.  Open Enrollment for this voluntary insurance takes place in the spring and fall.  More information will be made available prior to the Open Enrollment periods.
