LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING--TDY BETWEEN DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS

Dear Mr. Lum:

The parties agree that during the period preceding the merge of the Domestic and International operations (beginning in January, 1999) the established practices of TDY between the operations will continue, as necessary.

The bid and award process, length of TDY, notification and other related issues will be governed by the terms outlined in the newly ratified Flight Attendant Agreement.

The following modification to established practice shall be implemented for TDYs effective with the January, 1998 Flight Attendant schedules.

  1. Flight Attendants designated “A”, “B”, or “L” under Section 10.A.1.a. will retain such letter designator when assigned TDY except as outlined in sub-paragraphs b. and c. below.

  2. Flight Attendants designated “L” under Section 10.A.1.a. whose relative seniority in the TDY operation falls within the “A/B” rotation, and who are awarded a TDY of thirty (30) days or more, will be assigned a reserve rotation designator for that TDY operation.

  3. Flight Attendants designated “L” under Section 10.A.1.a. whose relative seniority in the TDY operation falls within the “A/B” rotation and who are awarded consecutive TDYs of thirty (30) days or more, will not be assigned a reserve rotation designator that will cause them to be on reserve for two (2) consecutive months.

Flight Attendants affected by sub-paragraphs b. and c. above will return to their prior designator upon completion of the TDY.

Sincerely,

/s/Sara Fields
