Senate Must Not Forget Flight Attendants for Pension Protections

Following the Delta and Northwest bankruptcy filings, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid issued a press release calling for immediate action to preserve the employee pension plans at Northwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines. He declared that Congress ‘must not sit by and do nothing while thousands of hard working Americans' retirement security is at risk’ echoing the words spoken by United Flight Attendants for months. California State Assembly Strongly Supports Federal Legislation to Restore Flight Attendant Pensions

The California State Assembly passed a resolution yesterday with a 44 to 22 vote in favor of Resolution No. 18 which calls for federal legislation that would aid in the protection of hard-earned retirement benefits for all non-executive and non-management employees in the airline industry.
