Nov 20 - Flight Attendants assigned to Reserve for the month of December, have an opportunity to preference where they would prefer to layover for the holiday. In an effort to better manage and support the 2009 Reserve Christmas Wish List, AFA and United have developed new programming that provides improvements to previous year’s systems.

Feb 17 - This evening, February 17, 2009, Unimatic home access via AOL has been unavailable for a large number of users. To allow time for AOL to resolve this issue and provide an opportunity for all Flight Attendants to submit bids, AFA and United have agreed to delay the close of bids.

Sept 23 - Voluntary Furlough Covers All Furloughs
Sept 22 - Voluntary Furlough bids closed this morning at 0800 Chicago Time. The award process has now begun. AFA is monitoring the award process and advocating for the best possible results for all Members, including every effort to protect the jobs of our most junior members. The awards will be announced by 1700 on Wednesday, September 24th.

Aug 27 - As a result of United's decision to reduce its aircraft fleet along with Flight Attendant staffing, the Company today announced a need of approximately 1,550 Flight Attendants on furlough status effective October 31, 2008.
Today, United announced a system-wide bid for Special Leaves of Absence for a two-month schedule period, August 31st through October 30th.
The technical problems associated with the Interim Vacation bid system has been resolved as of this afternoon. The new bidding period is May 6 at 0800 LDT through May 13 at 0800 LDT.
