2026 Open Enrollment – AFA Supplemental Benefits

This year’s annual open enrollment for AFA sponsored supplemental benefits for United AFA-CWA Members will be held from April 1-24th. Members will be able to enroll online, telephonically, and onsite at several bases.

Information regarding this year’s enrollment will be mailed to members in March. The supplemental benefits program is underwritten by Continental American Insurance Company (CAIC), and offered by National Group Protection (NGP), the exclusive AFA-CWA sponsored supplemental benefits provider.

Members will have the opportunity to enroll in the following supplemental benefit plans –

• Accident
• Cancer
• Critical Illness
• Hospital Indemnity
• Short-Term Disability
• Whole Life Insurance

Participation is completely voluntary and premiums for these plans are paid through payroll deduction. Except for short-term disability, the supplemental benefit plans offer family coverage and are portable which means, you can take the coverage with you should you retire or otherwise leave United Airlines.

Multiple Enrollment Opportunities

• On-Site. NGP will be on-site from April 1-24 at DEN, EWR, IAD, IAH, LAX, ORD, and SFO. NGP will also be on site at GUM from April 1-3.
  

• Phone. The enrollment number is 877-293-3227.

• Online. Beginning April 1, access the online enrollment at www.ngp-ins.com/unitedafa

• Note: NGP will not be onsite on Easter Sunday, April 5, and telephonic enrollment will also not be available. Members can still enroll online that day.
