Every third Monday in January, we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for his contributions to the Civil Rights Movement and his impact on our society. As of late, Civil Rights have taken a step back in our country, something that goes against the dream that Martin Luther King Jr. had for us.

Now more than ever, we have to follow in his footsteps. He had a dream that all would be afforded Civil Rights, that every human would be treated with dignity and respect, and not only for equal opportunities for all, but for our government to protect us all equally and without any bias. This January 19th, let’s honor Dr. King by taking a page out of his book. Let’s stand with one another, let’s protect our rights, let’s advance and create a more equitable society for all.

“With patient and firm determination we will press on until every valley of despair is exalted to new peaks of hope, until every mountain of pride and irrationality is made low by the levelling process of humility and compassion; until the rough places of injustice are transformed into a smooth plane of equality of opportunity; and until the crooked places of prejudice are transformed by the straightening process of bright-eyed wisdom.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
