A Message From the JIT:

This communication is part of our ongoing commitment to provide information on issues related to implementation.
Please read through the following updates.

Updated Pay Rates
Effective August 2026 bid month, hourly pay rates will increase to the rates listed below:

The first paycheck on which these rates will be reflected will be the September 1, 2026 advance check for August flying.

One-Time Payment
The One-Time Payment provided for in Letter of Agreement 24 is scheduled to be paid on September 15, 2026. OneTime Payment statements are now available. This will be paid a separate check from your regular monthly payroll. *

Working with the United Retirement Plan teams, we have extended the period for eligible Flight Attendants to make an election to defer a portion of their One-Time Payment into their retirement savings accounts. The new deadline will be August 14. Please see the direct communications from the Retirement Plan team for more detailed instructions.

As a reminder:

  • The One-Time Payment is not eligible for any employer direct or matching contributions.
  • Our normal contribution rate does not automatically apply to the One-Time Payment deferral choice. If you do not make an election to defer a portion of your One-Time Payment during this window, no deduction will be made to your 401(k) Savings account.

*Due to international payroll processing limitations, London-based flight attendants will see their One-Time Payment included with their September 16 paycheck.

Onboard Crew Rest
As a follow up to our communication regarding the use of Crew Rest facilities by jumpseating Flight Attendants, it will be necessary for the International Purser/ Purser to know the bunk availability in advance, so that unused bunks, if there are any, may be used by jumpseat riders without an interruption to the working crew's rest.

On flights where crew rest is required, breaks are coordinated by the International Purser/ Purser. As part of that process, the International Purser/ Purser should also coordinate bunk assignments for the breaks, taking into account each individual's Flight Attendant seniority.

If there are remaining crew rest facilities after the International Purser/ Purser schedules crew rest breaks and bunks, available bunks will be allocated to jumpseat riders in seniority order.

The use of the crew rest facilities by jumpseat riders cannot interfere with the scheduled crew rest for the working crew and any issues related to crew rest will be managed by the International Purser/Purser.
