Report Safety Concerns: ICE Interference at Security Checkpoints

Written by Admin | Mar 23, 2026 5:33:05 PM

Airports across the United States are experiencing extended security-screening delays due to a lack of government funding for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Officers. In an unprecedented move, ICE agents are being deployed to airports across America.

As aviation's frontline workers and last line of defense, safety and security are always our top priority. When it is not supported by those trusted and trained to ensure the safety of aviation, we, along with our passengers, can be placed at unnecessary risk. While aviation is the safest form of transportation, it is only because of the intricate, tested layers of safety and security.

Make no mistake: our position is firm. We stand with the TSA Officers trained to keep us and the traveling public safe. We demand pay for TSA workers to keep airports secure with fully operational security checkpoints staffed with trained Transportation Security Officers.

If you experience or witness anything related to ICE impacting your personal safety, the safety of the traveling public, or interference with TSA screening procedures, use this AFA-CWA reporting form. The report you submit will be de-identified before any issues are discussed with airlines or regulators. You may also receive a follow-up call from an AFA Representative or AFA staff should there be a need to clarify any information.

If you or someone you know needs confidential support, AFA EAP is available to any crew or family in need at 800-424-2406.
