Uniform Updates

Our collaboration with Inflight management has resulted in several positive Uniform policy changes. The first significant change was the addition of the apron as an approved garment to wear during service periods in Polaris. The higher quality of this apron maintains a professional appearance during service and supports greater ease of movement, while protecting the uniform from spills during the course of service.

The next topic of much discussion is related to boots. Dress Boots are now approved based on the following standards and during designated periods.

• Short dress boots (ankle / Chelsea style) may be worn when paired with pants. 
• Knee-high dress boots may be worn with the dress or skirt and can be worn to/from the airport and during Phase 1 (Check-in through takeoff) & Phase 4 (Initial descent through release of duty). They may not be worn during Phases 2 & 3 (which encompass the period after takeoff until initial descent). If knee-high boots are worn, it will be necessary to change into “inflight shoes” for Phase 2 (After takeoff through end of primary service) & Phase 3 (Time remaining in flight until initial descent).

Neither of these improvements would have been possible without the support from Michielle and Dean. They took an interest to understand how these two aspects of the uniform standards (policies) were impacting Flight Attendants and worked with us to create solutions.  We appreciate their interest and engagement in finding reasonable solutions to support Flight Attendants.

End of Year Reminders:

• Uniform Belts are available to order through the Brooks Brothers Uniform Portal. The belt kit must be ordered as a standalone item and is paid for by the company. To receive the belt at no-cost, it must be ordered by December 31, 2025.

Unused Uniform Points will not rollover into next year. Any points that are not used prior to the end of this year will be forfeited.
