Elections are one of the most direct ways to shape the direction of our Union, and this spring, we have the opportunity to do exactly that.

Elections for cyclical vacancies will be held at the Spring 2026 Regular Meeting of the United Master Executive Council, taking place April 14-16, 2026, at the Hyatt Centric Chicago O'Hare, 6350 N River Rd, Rosemont, IL 60018.

The Local Executive Council Presidents (LECPs) comprise the voting body of the MEC. Positions are elected by simple majority, with each LECP casting one vote per position. Their votes are driven by your direct input.

The following positions open for election are: MEC President, MEC Vice President, MEC Secretary-Treasurer, Benefits, Central Schedule, Communications, Digital Tech, Employee Assistance/Professional Standards, European Affairs Coordinator, Government Affairs, Grievance, Hotels & Transportation, Human Rights & Equity, Membership Engagement, Reserve, Retiree Medical Plan Board, Retirement Board, Safety, Health & Security, System Board of Adjustment, and Uniform.

For more information on committee scope, qualifications, and open positions visit the Elections page on the United MEC Website.

To be eligible, candidates must be active Members in good standing. Interested Members should submit a signed Willingness to Serve statement, preferably at least 15 days before the election. This statement will be posted on our website and should not contain personal information such as address or phone number. Additionally, if you wish to submit a resume or provide further information, that will be sent to the United Master Executive Council only for their review.

Candidates are encouraged, though not required, to give an in-person interview at the meeting. Candidates will be provided five (5) minutes to address the MEC.

Meeting details are posted on the MEC website. The meeting is open to all Members in good standing. If you are in the Chicago area April 14-16, we encourage you to attend, participate, and be part of our democratic process.
