MEC Officer Term: July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2029

As outlined in the AFA-CWA Constitution and Bylaws, the United MEC is the governing body for all United Airlines Flight Attendants. It is composed of the Local Council Presidents from each of our 14 Local Councils across the system.

From within this group, the MEC elects its leadership team: an MEC President, Vice President, and Secretary-Treasurer.

The MEC also elects Committee Chairs, Vice Chairs, Members, and Coordinators. Together, these elected representatives carry out the will of the MEC and work on the system-wide issues that matter most to every United Flight Attendant.

Scott Pejas, MEC President (Newly Elected)

Scott began his flying career in 1996 as a Los Angeles based Flight Attendant with United Airlines and then transferred to Chicago in 1999 where he has been based since.

In 2016, Scott was elected to serve as LEC Vice President and then LEC President of Council 8 ORD. Scott holds a strong belief that our Union must engage with the Members in order to be successful which is why he has always continued to fly even while holding elected Union positions, and will continue to fly as your MEC President.

Most notably, Scott was actively involved in changing the language of the United Airlines Canadian Admissibility policy as well as ending the exclusion of airline workers from the Illinois Employee Sick Leave Act. All these experiences have shaped the approach that Scott intends to bring to his newly elected role as your MEC President and is committed to lead with transparency, advocacy, and always keeping United Flight Attendants at the forefront.

In Scott’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Caryn, son Jack and his Golden Retriever, Thor.

Kim Montgomery, MEC Vice-President (Newly Elected)

Kim began her Flight Attendant career at Continental Airlines in 1986 and has been based in DEN, CLE, HNL and currently EWR.

In 2011, a simple invitation to Grievance training changed her life with a newfound passion for Flight Attendant advocacy and commitment to unionism. Kim has extensive experience in Grievance as well as having served as Council 6 Vice President in EWR for one term and two terms as President beginning in 2020. As Council President, she advocated and helped create Council 22 - FLL/TPA/MCO to have autonomous representation for our Florida based United Flight Attendants who were previously represented by her own Council. Additionally, she fought to expand our MEC Grievance committee to better assist our Members.

In her free time, Kim enjoys scuba diving, concerts, reading, and spending time with her son, Marshall.

Christopher Clarke, MEC Secretary-Treasurer (Re-Elected)

Chris began his flying career in 1997 based in JFK and enjoyed TransCon flying between JFK and LAX/SFO. He was inspired to serve his Flying Partners doing local Union work early in his career for Council 5 - JFK.

In June 2002, Chris was elected as Vice-Chair of MEC Communications. Chris continued his Vice-Chair role and was elected to finish the term as Chair of Communications in 2014 when Sara Nelson (previous Chair) was elected as International President.

From June 2014 to September 2018, Chris was based in IAH and then DEN before transferring to ORD to volunteer to work on the JCBA One United Guides as an AFA representative at the request of the MEC Officers. Chris was elected as MEC Communications Chairperson in November 2020 and then elected as MEC Secretary-Treasurer in April 2023 and re-elected in April 2026.

Chris enjoys vacationing in Colorado, hiking, fly fishing with his three dogs Kai, Loki and Missy.
