MEC Government Affairs Committee
Over the last eight weeks, the hard work of our AFA Government Affairs Committee Members and volunteers has come to life in bases across the system, connecting Members to our Get Out The Vote campaign for the 2026 Midterm Elections.
The GOTV team had conversations with thousands of Members in terminals and crew rooms. We provided assistance and up to date information about the 2026 midterm elections including: voter registration resources, various voting options, overseas voting support, and polling locations. We also introduced Members to AFA Endorsed Candidates who have pledged their support for our contract fights and for legislation that makes our industry safer.
Eligible Flight Attendant voters across the globe made their voices heard and participated in our Democratic process. THANK YOU, for making the time to show Washington that Flight Attendants vote, and our vote matters. Our profession can sometimes make it difficult to participate in the election process. You all made the commitment to get to the polls and support your chosen candidate.
Aviation safety transcends all political parties. Our ability to usher in good aviation legislation, protect our profession and fight for the improvement of our industry hinges on greatly on our elected Representatives. Every time we exercise our right to vote we show Congress that Flight Attendants have an active voice in the democratic process and that we are willing and able to hold them accountable to working Americans.
We have a long history of working with every elected official to drive forward on good aviation legislation, protect and improve collective bargaining and elevate the career we have chosen.

For the 2026 Midterm Elections AFA-CWA/AFL-CIO endorsed 103 candidates. While there are still a few races to be called, we wish to congratulate all the candidates who were successful in their campaigns and will take their place in the 120th Congress.
