TA2 Ratified, What’s Next?

TA2 was successfully Ratified and now the implementation process will soon begin.

The Contract will be effective starting on the first day of the June bid month, May 31st 2026.

LOA - 9 (Pages 371- 388) of our Tentative Agreement outlines the implementation of when certain sections and provisions of the Contract will take effect.

Date of Signing (DOS) indicates that certain provisions will be effective on the Contract Effective Date (May 31st), including Base Pay increases, Boarding Pay, & new per diem rates, all which will be visible in the June Pay Register and paid starting with the July 2026 pay period.

As you can see in LOA - 9, there are sections of the Contract that will be implemented with a “To Be Determined” date by the Joint Implementation Team (JIT). Below are some facts about the JIT to help you better understand how our new Contract will be enacted.

Important Facts about the Joint Implementation Team (JIT)

  • The Joint Implementation Team (“JIT”) shall consist of six members
    • Three Union members and three company members
    • The MEC President will appoint the three Union members
  • The Union JIT members report to the MEC President
  • Every quarter after DOS, the JIT will meet to review and discuss the implementation process and its relevance to the implementation dates
  • It is the responsibility of the JIT to ensure that the implementation timeline is followed, however situations can arise that either delay or fast-track certain sections and provisions
